  • What does ACT stand for?
    ACT stands for "All Cocoa Touch". This is the name of the frameworks which Apple provides for developers on the iPhone.

    The ACT prefix serves to distinguish our Mac applications from our iPhone applications. Indeed, our Mac applications share the Houdah prefix. E.g. HoudahSpot & HoudahGeo
  • Where can I purchase iPhone applications?
    Houdah Software's iPhone applications are available exclusively in Apple's AppStore on iPhone, iPod Touch or iTunes 7.7 or later.
  • ACTPrinter
  • What are the requirements?
    You need:
    - a Mac running Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard. Your Mac needs to have an Airport/WiFi card.
    - a PC running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista(x32 & x64) or Windows 7(x32 & 64).Your PC needs to have an Airport/WiFi card.

  • Can I print any document?
    On the Mac:

    You may "print" from any application which uses the standard "Print" dialog. Here you will find the "Print to iPhone" command in the PDF menu located in the lower left of the "Print" window.

    On a PC:

    You may "print" from any application which uses the standard "Print" dialog. Please chose ACTPrinter Win as the target printer.
  • Why can't I print from Adobe Acrobat on Mac?
    Adobe Acrobat does not permit the use of PDF Services.

    The workaround is to drag the icon of the PDF file directly onto the ACTPrinter Mac icon.
  • Error: Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported
    Some applications - including Adobe Acrobat - block the use of PDF Services from the print panel. This prevents the use of ACTPrinter's "Print to iPhone" command. The workaround is to drag the PDF file to print directly onto the icon of ACTPrinter Mac.
  • How can I delete printouts on my iPhone?
    In the list view, just swipe your finger across a printout entry - just like you would do in "Mail"
  • "ACTPrinter Win" - Printer is not installed
    For Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7

    ***Antivirus programs should be disabled during installation.***

    1. Uninstall "ACT Printer" from Control Panel -> Programs and Features
    2. Navigate to "..\Program Files\Houdah Software\ACTPrinter Win Client\Installers\Printer", right click on "setup.exe" and select "Run as administrator"
    3. Follow the on-screen prompts
    4. Check if "ACTPrinter Win." printer is available, if not continue below...

    In some cases, the UAC (User Account Control) needs to be disabled to install the ACTPrinter Win printer. Please follow the instructions below to temporarily disable the UAC:

    For Windows Vista

    Disable the UAC
    1. Press the "Windows" key and "R" keys simultaneously, the "run" dialog will appear
    2. Type MSCONFIG and click OK.
    3. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC" . Click on that line.
    4. Press the Launch button.
    5. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
    6. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.
    7. Reboot your computer.

    Install the printer
    8. Uninstall "ACT Printer" from Control Panel -> Programs and Features
    9. Click Start->ACT Printer Win->Tech Support and click Install Printer
    10. Follow the on-screen instructions

    Enable the UAC
    11. Press the "Windows" key and "R" keys simultaneously, the "run" dialog will appear
    12. Type MSCONFIG and click OK.
    13. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Enable UAC" . Click on that line.
    14. Press the Launch button.
    15. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
    16. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

    For Windows 7

    Disable the UAC
    1. Press the "Windows" key and "R" keys simultaneously, the "run" dialog will appear
    2. Type MSCONFIG and click OK.
    3. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Change UAC settings" . Click on that line.
    4. Press the Launch button, the User Account Control Setting dialog will appear.
    5. Note, the current position of slider so you can restore the setting in a few minutes. Move the slider to the bottom, "Never notify"
    6. Click OK and restart your computer.

    Install the printer
    7. Uninstall "ACT Printer" from Control Panel -> Programs and Features
    8. Click Start->ACT Printer Win->Tech Support and click Install Printer
    9. Follow the on-screen instructions

    Enable the UAC
    10. Press the "Windows" key and "R" keys simultaneously, the "run" dialog will appear
    11. Type MSCONFIG and click OK.
    12. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Change UAC settings" . Click on that line.
    13. Press the Launch button, the User Account Control Setting dialog will appear.
    14. Move the slider to the position noted in step 5
    15. Click OK and restart your computer.

  • How many game boards are included?
    ACTSudoku constantly generates fresh game boards. There is no limit. You will never run out of fresh games.
  • How hard are the games?
    ACTSudoku gives you a choice of 3 difficulty levels. Easy games typically take 5 minutes to solve - with automatic markers enabled. Hard games often take 40 minutes and up!
  • What if I get a phone call?
    Your game will be suspended. You may come back later to resume the game.
  • Can I record best times?
    Recording best times would not make much sense. As game boards are generated, no two players will get to play the same game. Thus there will be no common ground for comparing times.
  • It's too easy! ACTSudoku gives out the solution
    If you find the Sudoku puzzle to be too easy to solve using automatic markers, you may chose disable them.

    You may also try yourself at a harder game. A "hard" game takes about 40 minutes to solve - with automatic markers enabled!
  • Can I disable automatic markers?
    Sure. You may disable automatic markers ahead of time within ACTSudoku's settings menu. You will always keep the option to enable them during gameplay.

    If the game was started with automatic markers enabled, you may disable automatic markers during gameplay. Existing markers will not be removed. They will however no longer be updated automatically.
  • Does it need an Internet connection?
    No.
  • ACTCurrency
  • Where is the "=" key?
    You won't need and "=" or "enter" key. ACTCurrency computes the converted value as you type.
  • Which currencies are supported?
    ACTCurrency is a universal currency converter. You may configure it for any number of currencies.

    Moreover ACTCurrency has the ability to automatically update exchange rates between 190+ world currencies.
  • How can I look up exchange rates?
    ACTCurrency automatically updates exchanges rates between 190+ world currencies.

    If either your home currency, or your target currency are not part of the above list, you will need to manually enter the appropriate exchange rate.

    Imagine your home currency is the USD. Now, you want to add the Honduran Lempir to the list of currencies.For this you would head to www.google.com and enter the following: "1 USD in HNL". It will reply with the value you need to enter in ACTCurrency. E.g. "1 U.S. dollar = 18.8971616 Honduran lempiras"
  • Does it need an Internet connection?
    The Internet connection is needed to update exchange rates. When there is no connection, ACTCurrency will rely on the latest downloaded exchange rates.

  • How do I enter values?
    You need to select the row where you want to enter a value. The current value will show at the right hand side. Use the keypad below to enter a new value.
  • May I tip the post-tax amount?
    Sure. Just enter a sales tax percentage of 0%.
  • Why not tip on liquor?
    In some restaurants, liquor is handled by the sommelier. For bottles of wine and the like, you would then tip the sommelier rather than the waiter.
  • Does it need an Internet connection?
    No.
